How Uplink works
The Uplink module is based on ONVIF Uplink recommendations. Its source code is fully open and published by VXG.
The module can be inside a camera or outside of the camera on a separate device as in the diagram below:

When the Uplink module is on a separate device, it can bridge connections to multiple cameras in the same network:

Internally the Uplink router establishes a Web Socket Secure (WSS) connection to the Cloud VMS and tunnels HTTP and RTSP protocols through it. The Internet connection is fully encrypted:
