Camera Events

Events lists activity reported by your cameras as it arrives. These are camera events, separate from the alarms produced by alarm rules.

Filter events

Filters sit above the list. Status tabs sit at the top of the list.

Filter

What it does

Site

Shows events for one site. The default label is Site: All.

Camera

Shows events for one camera. The list follows the selected site. The default label is Camera: All.

Event type

Shows one type of event. The default is All Events.

Start time

The beginning of the time range.

End time

The end of the time range.

Event type can be All Events, Motion, Line Crossing, Intrusion, Face Detection, Timer, or Health Check.

The start and end fields open on a short recent window. The start is 16 minutes before the application was opened, and the end is 1 minute before. You can change either time. Dates in the future are unavailable, and dates more than 5 years ago are unavailable. Clear a field to remove that end of the range.

The status tabs are All, New, Acknowledged, and Resolved. All is selected when you open the page.

Review an event

Each event in the list shows a snapshot, a name, the time, and a status of New, Acknowledged, or Resolved. The name is the event label from the camera. A Health Check event with no label uses Health Check as its name.

Select an event to open it. The detail panel shows:

The image at the top is a snapshot from the event. Select it to play the recording from just before the event time. A timeline appears under the video. Double-click the video to return to the snapshot.

Use the buttons above the details to update the event:

  • Acknowledge marks a New event as acknowledged. It is unavailable for events that are already acknowledged or resolved. On success, a message confirms the event was marked as acknowledged.

  • Resolve marks the event as resolved. It is unavailable when the event is already resolved. On success, a message confirms the event was marked as resolved.

  • Delete removes the event. On success, a message confirms it was deleted.
