From this page, the admin user can see manage all retention and AI plans. Both plan types have a list of default plans made with standard retention time and AI credit usage, and the ability to add custom retention plans with specified retention times.
Retention Plans
Retention plans control the amount of time records are saved for a specific camera. It is used to enable recording on cameras and set retention time.
When adding a new plan, there are 5 inputs
-
Plan Name - This is the name customers will see when assigning this plan to cameras. They don’t have access to the plans specifications, so the name needs to be clear and descriptive such as “30 days continuous recording”
-
Retention time (days) - This indicates the number of days records from this camera will be kept in storage until they are removed
-
Recording mode - there are 3 options for this field,
-
On - continuous recording, no gaps in storage.
-
Off - no records kept
-
By Event - records will only start when there is a camera event detected such as motion. This option is used when trying to keep storage costs low
-
AI Plans
There is only 1 type of AI plan (unless you are using a system that differentiates “with reasoning” plans from “without reasoning” plans). When an AI plan is assigned to a camera, a predetermined amount fo credits is added to that users account to be used with Gen AI Alerts.
