Alerts aren't coming

  1. The most likely reason is that the motion events are is not configured on the camera. It depends on a camera model and to configure motion you’ll need to use the camera UI:

In the camera UI, find the Motion detection section and configure motion. Below is an example of Hanwha Motion detection UI:

  1. Check that motion events are received on the VMS side. There are 2 ways of doing that.

    1. Go to Monitoring->Sites and select the camera. Click on “Records and Controls” and check that the timeline has “red dots” that indicate motion events

b. Create a motion only Alert Rule

You should see “motion only” alerts coming in the Alert page:

  1. If motion detection is configured and verified, try to create an Alert Rule with a simple GenAI prompt like “Is there a person?” and verify the the Alerts with AI are now coming.
